You've seen it before... "PowerPoint is Dead" & someone who generates a "Finished presentation in seconds".

It looks impressive for about three seconds, until you notice it looks like everyone else's. Generic layouts. Off-brand colors. Nothing that resembles your template or your standards.

That's the trap with one-shot AI slides. Speed, but no control.

I work differently. I use the Claude add-in DAILY inside PowerPoint as a design assistant that follows my system, my slide master, my layouts, my brand. I stay 100% in control of the outcome, and it still gets done many times faster than building it by hand.

Let's be realistic: it's not 10x faster for everything just yet. But the models improve every week, and the gap is closing fast.

1. Automations. I let Claude handle the repetitive work: turning an agenda slide into chapter slides, filling in data, building structure, writing summaries, and dropping it all into the correct on-brand layout. The catch is that this only works when your slide master is built properly first. If your foundation is messy, the automation just produces mess faster.

2. Presentation design. Take a boring, default-looking slide and convert it into exactly the design you're after. Not the generic style Claude or ChatGPT defaults to, but your style. The skill here is knowing what good design looks like so you can direct the tool toward it.

3. Animations. Here's the part most people miss: you have to understand animations at a foundational level before AI is useful. Once you do, you can tell Claude precisely what you want.
